Gary and Sarah (Savory) Wilson, Ripley, celebrated their 60th anniversary with a small family gathering.
They were married Aug. 16, 1950, at the Church of Christ in Cushing.
They have four children, Kay Porter and husband Galen, Stillwater; Cary Wilson, Dallas, Texas; Donnie Wilson, Cushing; and Sue Jones and husband David, Yale. They have five grandchildren, Julie Porter, Thornton, Colo.; Jayme McTague and husband Dr. Marcus McTague, Conroe, Texas; Jackie Dawn Wilson, Enid; Laddie Aldridge, U.S. Navy, Panama City, Fla.; and J.W. Wilson, Cushing. They also have one great-grandchild, Danica McTague, 1, Conroe, Texas.
The Wilsons both attended Ripley Schools and after marriage decided to make their home in the community.
Wilson worked as a self-employed paint contractor for many years and later worked and retired from the Oklahoma State University physical plant — paint shop.
Mrs. Wilson has spent most of her life serving as a caregiver. She began by assisting customers at Katz Department Store and later worked as a nurse for the Stillwater hospital and later for home health organizations.
The Wilsons enjoy living on the farm, raising apples and pecans and spending time with family and friends.
