Lareeca Carpenter and Ron Jordan married on the bride’s birthday, Dec. 22, 1963, in the Oklahoma State University Bennett Chapel. They will celebrate 50 years of marriage with their family.
The couple graduated from Oklahoma State University. Ron Jordan earned a degree in industrial engineering and Lareeca Jordan earned a degree in home economics. After graduation, they lived in Houston, Texas, where he was employed by Cameron Iron Works and was active in the Houston Junior Chamber of Commerce. She was employed as a 4-H Youth Educator with the Texas Extension Service.
They moved to Stillwater in 1979 and he was self-employed in the personnel field. She worked in the social services field and is the Family Self Sufficiency coordinator at Stillwater Housing Authority. She is a Gamma Phi Beta alumnae. The Jordans are members of the First United Methodist Church.
They are the parents of three daughters: Ricque Reed and husband Lance of Edmond; Rebekah Miller and husband Chance of Laverne and the late Rondi Jene Jordan. The Jordans are the grandparents of 10 grandchildren: Kelsey, Conner and Karley Reed of Edmond and Haleigh, Hannah, Houston and Holly Bockelman and Madyson, Myah and Maisy Miller all of Laverne. Their grandchildren range in age from 1 month to 15 years old. They enjoy attending all of the grandchildren's activities including school, church, sports and dance.
