Boyles celebrate 50 years

James “Jim” W. Boyles and Sharon L. Sauter Boyles will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on May 9, 2014.

They were married May 9, 1964, at Random Lake, Wis. A celebration at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, will recognize their anniversary at St. Francis Church in Stillwater.

They have three children, Christine Nichols of Stillwater, James Boyles of Tulsa and Victoria Boyles of Edmond. They have five grandchildren, Casey Nichols, Jessie Nichols and Jamie Nichols, all of Stillwater; Jaden Boyles of Norman; and CaSandra Matheson of Edmond.

The couple met while attending Alexander High School in Nekoosa, Wis. After their marriage, they moved to Texas and then California where he was stationed with the United States Air Force. They returned to Wisconsin where he began a career with Mercury Marine and she worked in the laboratory of the hospital in Fond du Lac. His career moved the family to West Bend, Wis., in 1976 and, shortly after that, to Stillwater, where he retired from Mercury Marine in 2003 and she retired from Stillwater Medical Center in 2009. Today, they enjoy motorcycles, spending time with friends and family, creative arts and traveling.
