Jim and Nedra McLauchlin

Jim and Nedra McLauchlin celebrated their 50th anniversary last week with their family in Lexington, S.C.

They wed June 13, 1959, in Stillwater.

They have two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Kerri, Columbia, S.C., and Mark and Paula, Marietta, Ga. They have three grandchildren, Kayla, Charleston, S.C.; Jaime; and Micah and Emilee, Lexington.

They have one great-grandchild, Kittrell, Lexington, and are expecting a second grandchild on Aug. 8.

The McLauchlins lived in Enid, where he served in the U.S. Air Force. They traveled overseas with the Air Force. McLauchlin was a fighter pilot flying the F-100 and the F-105 in the Vietnam War. Mrs. McLauchlin was a homemaker at the time.

After McLauchlin returned from Vietnam, they moved to Kansas City, Mo., where he was a pilot for TWA. In 1973 they moved back to Stillwater. He continued working as a captain for TWA, and she went to work for Bonney’s, a women’s clothing store. Eventually they retired on their farm southwest of Stillwater, where today they enjoy a few head of cattle, a little fishing and Mitzi, their schnauzer.
