Anniversaries
Bill and Ruby Disney
Bill and Ruby Disney will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Saturday in the home of David and Sharon Kinzie, 5909 W. 116th.
They wed June 9, 1959.
They have seven children, Don Disney and wife Vicki, Blanchard; Walt Disney and wife Leigh, Norman; Linda (Ellis) Bowyer and husband Jack, Perkins; Rick Disney, Durant; Sharon (Ellis) Kinzie and husband David, Perkins; Billy Disney and wife Kathy, Garber; and Keith Disney and fiancee Teri Groves, Stillwater. They have 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
They moved to Perkins in 1963. Disney worked for the Oklahoma State University physical plant services heating and air conditioning department, where he rose to the position of department superintendent. He retired in 1985 after 26 years of service. Mrs. Disney also worked for OSU a number of years.
They built a home in Kingston, near Lake Texoma . They now enjoy a life as snowbirds, volunteering at various state parks, in Texas in winter and Custer State Park in South Dakota during the summer.
Friends and family are invited to the reception. The couple requests no gifts.

Hilary and Mary Kate Driggs, Stillwater, will celebrate their 70th anniversary Sunday at Mehan Union Church with family and friends.

Dr. Abdus S. Syed and Drs. Roushan A. Samad were married Jan. 5, 1960, in Montreal, Canada, where they both were doctoral students at McGill University.
