OSU Emeriti to hear Leming talk about ‘Insurance 101’

Stillwater insurance agent Scott Leming will talk to the OSU Emeriti Association July 7. The title of his presentation is “Insurance 101: What You Need to Know about Your Insurance and How to Organize It.”

Also on the program at the monthly “First Monday” dinner is entertainment by singer Daniel Yates, who will sing some well known patriotic songs, including “I’m Proud to Be an American.”

Leming graduated from Ponca City High School in 1987. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Oklahoma State University, with an emphasis in marketing.

After working three years for the public utility company PSO in Tulsa, Leming and his wife, Stacy, moved to Stillwater, where he opened his State Farm Agency at the corner of McElroy and Husband. They have twin boys, Garrett and Parker, who are nine years old, and a daughter, Landry, who is six.

In 1996, Leming relocated to the corner of Sixth and Monroe next to the OSU Foundation office. He says that he loves “talking insurance” and appreciates the opportunity to help others understand their insurance needs. The Emeriti dinner will begin at 6 p.m. in the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center. On the menu for the First Monday dinner buffet are fresh fruit, summer salads, tabouli, baked turkey, smoked brisket, pork and beef sausage, BBQ beans, buttered corn and seasoned green bens. Cobblers, cookies and sugar free desserts round out the list.

To make reservations for the dinner on July 7, call the Emeriti office at 744-5263 or e-mail Allen Reding at by July 4.
