Hovers celebrate 50 years

— Jeanita Harris and Ted Hover were married Sept. 10, 1963, at Southside Baptist Church in Stillwater. The Hovers have lived in the Stillwater area throughout their married life of 50 years. Their children invited family and friends to celebrate from 1-5 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Stillwater Community Center. Serving as hosts for the celebration were the couple’s children, Jamie and Rob Johnson; Ted and Cheryl Hover; David and Michelle Hover; Danny and Rhonda Hover; and Julia Hover and Minerba Cerda. Their children said their parents have made a wonderful life for themselves and were great parents and now great-grandparents. The Hovers have five children, 13 grandchildren and four beautiful great-grandchildren.

Ted Hover owned Ted’s University Texaco on the corner of Sixth Avenue and Western Street for more than 30 years until his retirement. Jeanita Hover worked as a teacher in the Stillwater Public Schools for 29 years.  She taught at Pleasant View School, Stillwater Middle School and Skyline Elementary School.
