Screening of Cowgirls N' Angels film shot in Stillwater will benefit Oklahoma State rodeo team

STILLWATER, Okla. — A Sept. 11 screening of "Cowgirls N' Angels" will benefit the Oklahoma State University Rodeo Team, announced The Western Integrity Agency of Stillwater, which is hosting the screening.

The film, scenes of which were shot in and around Stillwater, will be seen at 7:30 p.m. at a private viewing at Carmike 10 Cinemas in Stillwater. Tickets can be purchased for $10 each from by Sept. 4.

The movie tells the story of Ida, a feisty and rebellious young girl, searching for her father traveling the rodeo circuit. Through her search, Ida meets a group of trick riders, the Sweethearts of the Rodeo, at a local event.

The Sweethearts of the Rodeo are a group of young female trick riders coached by rodeo legend Terrence Parker. Recruited by Terrence, Ida joins the group of trick riders in her quest to find her father as they travel the rodeo road throughout the West. Ida's journey leads her to discover a passion that redefines her life and gives her a new hope in finding the father.

 "Cowgirls N' Angels" was written by Timothy Armstrong and Stephan Blinn, directed by Armstrong, and produced by Ben Feingold and Shawn Griffith.

 The family film, rated PG, was released on May 25.
