Oklahoma State senior ‘Makin’ Memories’ singing true country

“I turned down offers to go to Nashville . . . I wanted to finish school,” Jones said. “There’s no secret formula in the music business — no guarantees.”

That is why Jones has accepted an offer as a production engineer with Chesapeake Energy to begin in May. He plans to play when he can and continue to write songs but he’s not going to Nashville. Jones said he was fortunate to produce his first album in Oklahoma with Tate Publishing, a music label working with aspiring artists and giving their music the best chance in the marketplace. Jones has been balancing school and making music so he will continue that path working in Oklahoma where he sings:

"There ain’t nothin’ like the view of an open prairie

Watchin’ the sun go down

Lookin’ out as far as your eyes can see

There ain’t nothin’ like the sound of a country song

That brings back the memories.”

Fans that can’t make it Saturday to purchase a signed CD or want to book a performance can send an email to his manager, Alan Casey, at or call 405-613-2833 or 405-834-2041.
