STILLWATER, Okla. —
Stillwater resident Steve Williams browsed through golf merchandise Thursday morning on Main Street as Krazy Days started a three-day run. Some businesses got an early start Wednesday.
Williams is a regular at Krazy Days sales. “I can’t remember one I’ve missed so far. I just come to see the bargains,” he said.
Several years ago, Williams found a real bargain – a three-tier stand that his family uses during family outings to hold paper plates and other cookout items.
“We use it a lot, and it was free,” he said.
Krazy Days is a communitywide sale. Merchants throughout the city clear warehouses and stock rooms. This weekend, Stillwater residents will get into the act with actual garage sales. A list and a map of the garage sales will be published in Friday’s NewsPress.
A Main Street drug store had everything from Christmas cards to sunglasses on sale Thursday. The cards were 75 percent off and the sunglasses were truly cheap – $1 a pair.
It is the third Krazy Days for employee Miranda Mackay. “We always open at 7 a.m.,” she said as a crowd started to mill around her as she priced sunglasses and answered customer questions at a sidewalk table.
The store clears its stockroom of leftover holiday gear during Krazy Days. “We have Halloween and Easter items for sale,” Mackey said.
