BREAKING NEWS: Cushing restaurant employee injured during armed robbery

CUSHING, Okla. — A female employee of the Steer Inn restaurant was hospitalized following a Sunday armed robbery at the Cushing landmark.

At 10:42 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to a report of an armed robbery at the Steer Inn.

Police found the female employee had sustained injuries. She was taken to Hilcrest Hospital, then flown via AirEvac to Tulsa.

Officers were able to determine from surveillance videos that the employee was locking up for the night when she was attacked from behind by an armed assailant.

The attacker took two money bags before fleeing, and is described as a male wearing blue jeans and a dark hoodie.

Cushing police said a photo will be released as soon as possible.

The Cushing Police Department and Payne County Sheriff's Department canvassed the area immediately following the incident and overnight.

CrimeStoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for the identification and conviction of the person or persons involved in the robbery.
