Stillwater man critically injured in Wednesday traffic accident near Cushing

CUSHING, Okla. — A 53-year-old Stillwater man was critically injured Wednesday in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of State Highway 33 and Stiles Road, approximately two miles west of Cushing.

Sean M. Kelly was taken by air ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was admitted in critical condition with head and upper body injuries. The accident occurred at 2:49 p.m. Wednesday, according to an Oklahoma Highway

Kelly was driving east on State Highway 33 and started to make a left turn. A dump truck driven by David Bruce Thomas, 51, Shawnee was behind Kelly's vehicle. Thomas attempted to pass Kelly's vehicle as it was turning. The dump truck struck Kelly's vehicle in the driver's side door, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
