NORMAN —
Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones appears to be leaner than he's been at any point in his career.
The 6-foot-4, 218-pound senior believes he has added mobility to his arsenal this season.
That's fine with Sooner coach Bob Stoops, but the last thing he wants to see is Jones trying to turn into a running quarterback and expose himself to hits.
"You take what’s there. And then we’re not looking for the extra yard. Then you get down or you throw it away," Stoops said. "That’s not uncommon. Most quarterbacks do do that. That’s not a big deal.”
Jones hasn't had much of a history running the ball. He would need to rush for 166 yards this season just to have positive rushing yards for his career. His current total is minus 165 yards.
