STILLWATER, Okla. —
Arrest warrants have been issued for two Stillwater residents accused of letting two pit bull puppies die without food and water and neglecting three other dogs.
Tammye Lynn Dennis, 33, and Dexter Ray Johnson Jr., 35, are charged with cruelty to animals. According to an affidavit, a deputy responded on Sunday to reports that dogs had been abandoned at a mobile home. The document shows the deputy described the three dogs as bulldogs that appeared to be underweight with no food nearby. The report states the deputy saw water near the three dogs, two of which were connected to chains.
He also found a cage containing two dead puppies with no food or water nearby, the document showed.
The deputy noted in the affidavit that the puppies appeared to have been in the cage for several days.
The deputy contacted a neighbor who said the owners had not been to the mobile home in a week and had asked his son to give the dogs water, the affidavit shows.
The neighbor told the deputy the residents had been at the mobile home for a few months and left when their power was shut off, the affidavit shows.
