Five arrested and charged in Stillwater with meth offenses

STILLWATER, Okla. — Five people, including a fugitive, were arrested Monday in Stillwater and have been charged with meth-related offenses.

Payne County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jennifer Bowen of Stilwell and four others after a traffic stop just after 11 p.m. near East Maple Avenue and South Grandview Street.

Capt. Kevin Woodward said Bowen is a fugitive from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

Pawnee County Sheriff’s Lt. Monty Johnson said Bowen was on house arrest in another county when she slipped off an ankle bracelet. She was spotted in Pawnee County about five days ago, Johnson said.

She was charged Wednesday with manufacturing or attempting to manufacture methamphetamine after a former felony conviction and possession of firearm after a former felony conviction. She is being held in Payne County Jail on $50,000 bail.

Donna Kay Mitchell, 35, 1420 E. Maple St., was charged Tuesday with methamphetamine and marijuana, with intent to distribute, in the presence of a child under 12. She left the Payne County Jail on $50,000 bail, a detention deputy said.

Mark Thomas Casey, 53, 1420 E. Maple St., was charged Tuesday with possession of controlled and dangerous substances, methamphetamine and marijuana, in the presence of a child under 12, with intent to distribute and unlawful use of police scanner. He put up $75,000 bail to leave the county jail.

Brenton Clark of Glencoe is being held on $75,000 bail on charges of manufacturing or attempting to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of firearm after a former felony conviction.

Lee Polack of Stilwell left the jail on a personal recognizance bond. He is charged with possession of methamphetamine.

A deputy initiated a traffic stop because he could see someone in the car wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and the driver failed to use a turn signal, Woodward said.

After the stop, deputies obtained a search warrant for the driver’s home in the 1400 block of East Maple Avenue. Bowen and two others were found at the home, Woodward said.

A 6-year-old girl was at the residence, Woodward said.
