STILLWATER, Okla. — The American Choral Directors Association has selected Stillwater Junior High student, Bergen Ehrlich, for the Community and Youth Boys Choir performing March 13-16 in Dallas. More than 3600 students auditioned for the 300-member choir.

Bergen has sung with the Stillwater Honors Choir from 2008 to 2012 and in the Circle the State With Song choirs in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

In January 2011, he was selected to represent Stillwater in the Oklahoma Music Educators Association choir. Bergen was awarded the Outstanding Vocal Student in the Stillwater Middle School in May 2012.

In 2012, Bergen participated in vocal-music contests held at Northern Oklahoma College. He earned a number one ranking in solo and as a member of the men’s group performances.

Bergen appeared on stage with lead roles in two operettas, The Emperor’s New Clothes in 2011 and Jack in the Bean Stalk in 2012, both presented at the Stillwater Public Library under the direction of Rana McCoy. He was a featured performer at the Gospel With A Purpose Concert in Stillwater in May 2012 and will again be featured in June 2013.

In November 2012, Bergen performed the Chichester Psalms Solo as part of the Celebrating America Concert involving the Oklahoma State Concert Chorale and the Tulsa Signature Symphony.

In May 2013 he will play Kurt Von Trapp in Stillwater High School’s production of The Sound of Music.
