Sept. 20 is our Customer Appreciation Day at Stillwater Farmers’ Market. Each vendor has the chance to show appreciation to customers.
We’ll also have the Stillwater Medical Center there. There will be learning booths for family and children. Please try to attend so we can show our gratitude.
Items at the market this week are apples, Brussels sprout, cantaloupe, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, garlic, melons, okra, onions, peppers, soybeans, squash, tomatoes, watermelons, fresh herbs, potted herbs, lavender items, goat milk lotions and soaps, bison meat, jellies, Southwest cuisine, soups, breads and more.
Stillwater Farmers’ Market is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Oct. 29 in Strickland Park, 309 N. Main.
Italian Seasoned Tomatoes
4 ripe tomatoes sliced 1/4 inch thick
1/8 cup Romano or Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
1 clove garlic, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon fresh oregano
1 tablespoon olive oil
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Spray cookie sheet with spray oil. Place tomatoes in pan. Sprinkle tomatoes with cheese, bread crumbs, garlic, salt, pepper and oregano. Drizzle with olive oil. Bake 20 minutes or until cheese is lightly toasted.
This makes a great appetizer or side dish.
