Morrison's Quinata runs wild for Wildcats

MORRISON, Okla. — Usually freshmen sit behind upper classmen but not Morrison’s Jordan Quinata. The freshman running back has led the Wildcats in rushing all season.

“He runs really hard,” coach Cory Bales said. “He’s a downhill runner and can out run the defense.”

In the season opener on Aug. 31 against Pawnee, Quinata broke a 70-yard touchdown on his second carry of the season. The freshman finished the game with 111 yards. Against Yale on Oct. 5, Quinata scored on a 38-yard run and rushed for 107 yards in a 40-6 victory. The game helped Morrison clinch second in district. Against Foyil on Oct. 26, Quinata scored three touchdowns with over 100 yards rushing.

Quinata isn’t just playing running back for the Wildcats, he is the backup quarterback to senior Kyle Collins.

“He does a good job at quarterback,” Bales said. “He needs to work on his passing but does a great job of running the option.”
