RED ROCK, Okla. — The Morrison Lady Wildcats will enter Christmas break with some momentum as they won the Frontier consolation championship 51-34 over Garber Saturday.

Morrison (2-2) broke a first quarter tie and outscored Garber 17-4 to take a 28-15 halftime lead. Coach Rowdy Cawlfield said his team got good looks and played well on defense.

“We hit a few shots in a row,” Cawlfield said. “We didn’t give them very many good looks and were able to pull away.”

Shana Walls led the Lady Wildcats in scoring with 18 points. Morrison doesn’t play until Jan. 7, when they visit Chisholm.

RED ROCK – Newkirk proved to be too much for Morrison.

The two teams met in the Frontier Tournament final and Newkirk was able to get a 55-37 win to claim first. Morrison was pleased with their performance in the tournament.

OILTON – Pawnee and Davenport girls met up in the third place game in the Oilton Tournament.

Pawnee squeaked out a 48-47 victory to grab the bronze trophy. Natalie Jensen led Pawnee with 24 points. Jaiden Alley dropped in 12 points in the close victory.

“We tried to work the clock and got a little eratic. But eventually we were able to settle down,” Pawnee coach Chad Tsotigh said. “I’m just proud of our girls being able to finish.”

RED ROCK – The Frontier girls defended their tournament.
