PERRY, Okla. — The Perry Maroons clinched a spot in the playoffs, beating Pawnee 43-14.

Senior running back Austin Allen and junior quarterback Kale Hixon were named co-players of the game. Allen had two touchdowns for the Maroons (5-4, 3-2 in district) and Hixon had three. The Perry defense also shined, sacking the Pawnee quarterback four times.

For the Black Bears (1-8, 0-6), Trey Elston had 10 carries for 43 yards and Nicolet Browning rushed for 23 yards, but it wasn’t enough to pull out the win.

Regardless of next week’s outcome against Newkirk, Perry will be in the playoffs. The Maroons wait to see if they will be in the third or fourth position going in.
