CUSHING, Okla. —
The Maroons baseball team struck early and needed just five innings to run-rule the Cushing Tigers 10-2.
Perry scored six runs in the first, two in the second and one in the third and fourth. Logan Lewis went 3-for-3 with a double. Weston Ward went 2-2 with a double.
“We’ve been swinging the bat well,” Perry coach Chase Langley said. “This is the third game that we’ve had double-digit hits.”
The Maroons out-hit the Tigers 11-4. Dillon Buck earned the victory with four innings pitched and seven strikeouts. Perry improved to 5-1.
Frontier 9, Coyle 4; Varnum 15, Frontier 7
COYLE — The Frontier Mustangs split a doubleheader with a 9-4 victory over the Coyle BlueJackets and 15-7 loss to Varnum.
Brett Kincannon earned the win against Coyle and improved his record to 2-1. In a complete game, Kincannon struck out seven and only gave up three hits. The Mustangs are 2-7 in the spring season.
