FARGO, N.D. — Stillwater High sophomore wrestlers Kaid Brock and Joe Smith finished as runner-up in their respective weight classes at the USAW Cadet Freestyle Nationals in Fargo, N.D.
Both wrestlers finished first in their pool to advance to Friday’s championship match. Brock, wrestling at 106 pounds, lost to Scott Parker of Pennsylvania 1-0, 1-4, 4-0. Smith, who wrestled at the 120-pound weight class, lost to Matthew Kolodzik of Ohio 3-0, 6-0.
Thanks largely in part to Brock and Smith, Oklahoma finished sixth — out of 47 states represented — in the team standings with 33 points, while Pennsylvania claimed the team title with 62 points.
