Several area football teams turn heads after first week

STILLWATER, Okla. — Several area high school football teams are drawing attention after the opening week of the season.

The Cushing Tigers moved up two spots to sixth after defeating Mannford 47-32. Cushing hosts Perry Friday. The Perkins-Tryon Demons tied Hilldale for 12th after upseting Jones 23-14 on the road Friday. P-T visits McLoud, which is ranked 13th in Class 4A.

The Morrison Wildcats jumped two spots to eighth after defeating Pawnee 20-6 on the road and visit Alva, who is ranked 12th after losing to Thomas Fay Custer 28-21 last week.

The Agra Bearcats will have a tough test in their season opener as they go against Sharon Mutual, which is ranked third in Class C.
