Cushing's Hubble a force to be reckoned with

STILLWATER, Okla. — Cushing’s Trevor Hubble could be seen on the defensive-line creating plays for the Tiger defense.

Hubble, a senior defensive-end, was named the Stillwater News Press Area Football Defensive MVP for his accomplishments during his final season wearing the orange, black and white.

“That feels great. It makes me feel proud of myself and feel that all the work has paid off to be the Defensive MVP,” Hubble said.

The Tigers started the season perfect winning eight straight games. Things shifted and Cushing dropped its last three games to end the season 8-3 and a first-round playoff loss to Jones.

Even though the season ended short, Hubble felt that his final year was the best.

“It was by far my most fun year of football. We started off good and was feeling great. We thought we would have a chance to make a run in the playoffs but then lost our last three games. That was kind of disappointing but overall it was a pretty good year,” Hubble said.

Hubble also played on offense as a tight end and fullback. When on offense he helped to set up his players with blocks.

“I was like a lead blocker,” Hubble said.

Hubble has played football since the fourth grade and was very pleased with the honor.

“(Football) is by far my favorite sport,” Hubble said.

Hubble does not have plans for college yet but hopes to receive a scholarship to college to play football. The senior defensive end said he would like to stay in Oklahoma but did not rule out going to another state.

“I’m really wanting to play college football so we will see which teams want me,” Hubble said. “It would be nicer if it was in Oklahoma.”
