STILLWATER, Okla. —
The Morrison Wildcats will have to put off their quest for a state quarterfinal berth as inclimate weather postpones their second-round matchup with the Elmore City-Pernell Badgers until 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Dennis Casey Field.
“It was going to be really difficult for Elmore City to get into the city,” Morrison coach Cory Bales said. “We decided it’s better to put it off.”
Elmore City is about 2 hours south of Morrison and was originally supposed to play at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The Stillwater area was hit with freezing rain around noon. This game was one of many being rescheduled in Oklahoma. Bales said they are going to use the extra time to their advantage.
“We are going to practice some today,” Bales said. “We’ll have a walk-through tomorrow then eat and should be ready to go. We have plenty of things to work on.
The Wildcats, if they win will face the winner of No. 1 Ringling and No. 5 Thomas Fay-Custer in the state quarterfinals next week. Ringling and Thomas Fay-Custer play at 4 p.m. Saturday.
