Lady Pioneers roll over Lawton High 49-23

LAWTON, Okla. — It’s all starting to come together for the Stilwater High School girls basketball team.

The Lady Pioneers thumped Lawton 49-23 Saturday.

“We’re really sarting to gel,” SHS coach Carl Treat said. “We’ve had so different lineups and injuries, we couldn’t get used to playing with each other. Now things are starting to click and shots are starting to fall.”

LaNesha Middleton pace Stillwater (8-5) with 17 points, while Austyn Iven scored 12 for the Lady Pioneers, who started the game with an 8-0 run to take an 11-4 lead after one quarter.

“I’m extremely happy with the way we’ve been playing lately,” Treat said. “I see these girls everyday, and I know how hard they work. It’s nice to see it finally paying off.”

The Lady Pioneers will square off with rival Ponca City on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Pioneer Fieldhouse.
