Ponca City remains unbeaten to stay on top of the Brad Holt standings

STILLWATER, Okla. — Ponca City passed up Putnam City North with six runs in the sixth inning, to win with a final score of 9-3 and remain unbeaten in the Brad Holt Memorial Tournament. PC North led the game by a run for five innings, but went scoreless after the first.

Ponca City senior Robert Nanni hit a double to score junior Chase Kurtz and senior Devon Wilkins. Junior Travis Nichols also hit a double to left. Putnam City North senior Connor Finkhouse hit a double to right which brought junior Garrett Perez and sophomore Sean English around to home to put PC North on the board. Perez had started off the game with a double to right. Junior Riley Sterling also hit a double to left.

Putnam City North 8, Enid 3

Putnam City North didn’t waste any time getting on the board with two first-inning runs, defeating Enid 8-3. PC North scored off six hits and didn’t allow any errors. Enid gave up one error. Enid senior Bates Enmeier batted in junior Tanner Black and senior Matt Mills on a double.

Piedmont 5, Sand Springs 2

The first inning sealed the deal for Piedmont, beating Sand Springs 5-2. Piedmont scored all five runs in the first inning. Junior Jake Kisling hit a double to center and senior Brett Adams had a triple resulting in the first four runs. Sand Springs picked up its two runs in the last two innings on errors by Piedmont.
