MORRISON, Okla. —
The Morrison Lady Wildcats put together a fourth-quarter rally to upend Pawnee, 46-41, Thursday in Morrison.
After falling behind 24-17 at halftime, Morrison skimmed the deficit to four heading into the fourth quarter. In the final eight minutes of regulation, the Lady Wildcats outscored the Lady Black Bears 19-10 to come away with the win.
Junior Jacey Bales led the Lady Wildcats in scoring with 17, followed by senior Kalie Vernon with 14 points. Jaidan Alley paced Pawnee with 20 points.
Pawnee 81, Morrison 65
The Pawnee boys overcame a slow first quarter to blow out the Wildcats on the road Thursday night, 81-65.
Morrison got off to a quick start, scoring 22 points in the first eight minutes to hold a seven point margin. But the Black Bears got it going in the second quarter to hold a one-point advantage at the break, before going on a tear in the second half to come away with the 16-point win.
Pawnee had three scorers in double figures, getting a game-high 30 points from Gideon Gardner, followed by 21 from Nathan Brock and 12 from Ryland Moore.
Morrison was led by Jordan Quinata with 24 points, while Kevin Freeman chipped in with 14 points of his own.
