BIXBY, Okla. —
Winning two games was the goal for the Stillwater High School girls basketball team coming into the Bixby Tournament.
The Lady Pioneers fell just short of that goal with a 61-49 loss to Tulsa Edison in the consolation finals Saturday.
Austin Iven scored 18 points and Becca Worthy added 14, but the Lady Pioneers (3-2) could never overcome a 37-25 halftime deficit.
“Basically we had 15 turnovers and a lot of missed opportunities,” Stillwater coach Carl Treat said. “We missed our first five shots and most of those were blown layups. It was just one of those games that was a learning lesson for our team.”
The Lady Pioneers will face Lawton Eisenhower Friday at the Pioneer Fieldhouse.
