Stillwater girls roll, boys fall in regular season finale at Lawton

LAWTON, Okla. —

Pawnee 44, Rejoice Christian 36

PAWNEE — The Black Bears defeated Rejoice Christian 44-36 in a close and low-scoring game.

Pawnee (21-2) was led by Brandon Coltharp with 11 points. Vagus Penny added 9. The Black Bears will play again on Thursday. Their opponent is unknown.

Girls

Pawnee 43, Rejoice Christian 26

PAWNEE — The Lady Black Bears advance to regionals after defeating Rejoice Christian 43-26.

Shayla Brien was the leading scorer for the Lady Black Bears with 10 points.

Pawnee will face either Mooreland or Hooker in regionals at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Chisholm High School in Enid.

Frontier 73, Stonewall 52

KELLYVILLE — The Lady Mustangs got a quick lead to beat Stonewall 73-52.

Marissa Goodman scored 33 points and 15 rebounds. Jalisa Gum and Sydney Pappan combined for 27.

The Lady Mustangs advance to the area tournament. They will play Pond Creek Hunter on Friday.

Colcord 59, Yale 50

CHOUTEAU-MAIZE — Yale’s fight in the fourth quarter wasn’t enough to secure a win over Colcord, falling 59-50.

Lexie Huff led the Lady Bulldogs (9-15) with 27 points.

Yale will play the loser of Commerce and Quapaw at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Colcord in the consolation bracket of regionals.

Alva 62, Morrison 39

Waukomis — After falling behind early, Morrison lost the area finals to Alva 62-39.

Morrison will play on its home court against the loser of Christian Heritage and Depew at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Ripley 53, Watonga 35

LUTHER — Ripley won the class 2A area finals over Watonga 53-35.

Kylie Ladd led the Lady Warriors (25-1) with 21 points. Whisper Lefthand and Jaclyn McKnight combined for 24.

Ripley advances to play Sayre at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Watonga.
