Morrison overcomes injuries to rout Drumright



An injured quarterback didn’t slow down the Wildcats’ who defeated Drumright, 42-6. 

With Jordan Quinata out most of the game with an injury, Scott Van Dorn filled in as quarterback. Coach Cory Bales said Van Dorn was the top player.

Van Dorn scored three touchdowns. He had 10 carries for 101 yards. Tristan Garringer also had four carries for 115 yards and one touchdown.

Quinata is expected to be back for next week’s game against Barnsdall.


COYLE — The Bluejackets’ showed up ready to play, scoring six touchdowns in the first quarter. 

Lashay Johnson led the team with 88 yards rushing on three carries. He scored three touchdowns, including a 65-yard punt return.

Laine Noble returned an interception 35 yards to score. Ryan Weathers rushed for 57 yards and Gary Hunter followed with 50. Both scored touchdown for the Bluejackets. 

Coyle plays Oaks-Mission Oct. 25.


CHANDLER — Gage Stallworth led the Tigers in their victory over Chandler with five touchdowns. 

The game started out strong for Cushing with Stallworth scoring on a 92-yard run in the first quarter. Stallworth had 30 carries for 237 yards. 

Ian Jones follwed with 6 carries for 100. Jones also completed six passes for 80 yards. 

Cushing will host Perkins-Tryon Oct. 25.


CHISHOLM — The Maroons racked up another district loss against Chisholm. 

Perry trailed the Longhorns 14-6 at halftime and couldn’t gain the lead in the second half. The Maroons weren’t able to stop the Longhorns’ quarterback, Taggart Brown. 

Coach Cameron Bennett said his team needs to keep improving all around.

“It was a rough one,” Bennett said. “We’re young, inexperienced. We make mistakes. We’ve got to get better.” 

Perry will play Luther for their homecoming game Oct. 25. 


KIEFER — The Bulldogs came up short on the road against Kiefer. 

Yale trailed Kiefer from the start, only able to score once in the first half. 

Coach Craig Ellis said his team struggled defensively.
