LEEDEY, OK —
Ripley sophomore Chandler Salinas couldn’t have picked a better time for his first home run of the season. With the game tied at five, Salinas hit a two-run home run to lift the Warriors to a 7-5 victory over the Arnett Wildcats.
“(Salinas) hit a hanging breaking ball and crushed it,” Ripley coach Donnie Hoffman said. “It was a big hit. Trevor Watts came in and put up two zeros. It was a big win.”
The Warriors (7-3) held a 2-1 lead after the first and expanded it in the second. The Wildcats scored two runs in the third and two in the fifth to tie the game. Contributing offensively for Ripley was Houston Twoguns with two hits, including a double and three runs. Trevor Ballard hit a run-scoring single in the fifth.
Ripley travels to Oilton on Monday to face the Panthers.
