Yale blasts Barnsdall; Coyle creams Copan

YALE, Okla. — Yale played a good game, defeating Barnsdall 34-19. Although the first quarter was uneventful, Yale got on the board in the second and took off with three touchdowns in the third quarter. Konner Fowler recovered a fumble for a 30-yard touchdown late in the third quarter, his second score of the game. Devion Saunders also scored big on a 60-yard punt return in thefourth.

Yale increased its overall record to 4-1 and will faceoff on the road next week against Morrison.

Coyle 52, Copan 0

COPAN — The Coyle Bluejackets defeated Copan 52-0 in the first half. Coyle rushed for six touchdowns and threw for one.

Fidel Simpson scored three touchdowns in the first quarter. He ran for 127 yards on seven carries. Tony Aska, Ryan Weathers, Gary Hunter and Jared Weathers also scored for Coyle.

Next week the Bluejackets will play their Homecoming game against Agra. Coyle is now 3-2 and 3-1 in district.

Deer Creek-Lamont 42, Carney 16

LAMONT — Despite Carney falling to Deer Creek-Lamont by 26 points Friday night, head coach Mark Davis said the Carney offenxe played better than ever.

“Our offensive line was the best they’ve ever been,” Davis said. “They never even touched our quarterback tonight.”

Carney is now 1-4 overall, 1-3 in district play and will face Timberlake at home next Friday.

Alva 59, Perry 22

PERRY — Perry was not able to keep up with Alva, falling 59-22. The Maroons put up a running game, though they didn’t make it on the scoreboard in the first half. They had 261 rushing yards and only 41 passing. Austin Allen had the most rushing yards for the game, 76 on 18 carries.

The Maroons have evened their record in district play, 1-1. Next week Perry plays on their home turf against Hennessey.
