BIXBY, Okla. —
LaNesha Middleton and Austyn Iven combined for 31 points to lead the Stillwater High girls basketball team to consolation championship Saturday at the Bixby Tournament.
Middleton scored 16 and Iven 15 as Stillwater defeated Coweta 38-25. Audrey Wyzard, Jodi Vinyard and Callie Atkins scored 4, 2 and 1 to round out the Lady Pioneer scoring.
Coweta jumped to an 8-5 advantage by the end of the first period. Stillwater held a 14-13 lead at half.
The Lady Pioneers kicked the defense up a notch in the final two periods — holding Coweta to 3 points in the third and 8 in the fourth. The offense scored off transition and hit 6-of-7 fourth-quarter free throws to score 12 points in each of the third and fourth quarters.
The Lady Pioneers (4-2) will play host to Enid at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Pioneer Fieldhouse.
