Pioneer Soccer Academy starts Tuesday

STILLWATER, Okla. — Children, who are looking for something to do this summer will have the opportunity to learn from the Stillwater Pioneers and Lady Pioneers best at the Pioneer Soccer Academy Tuesday through Friday at Stillwater Junior High.

“I’m always ready to get the camp going,” SHS boys soccer coach Seth Condley said. “It’s been a month since I’ve played soccer. I’m ready to get back in the action and see the new faces and returning faces.”

The camp starts at 9 a.m. and runs until noon. Children entering first through eighth grade can participate. The cost is $75 and those interested in participating can call Condley at 405-612-7214 or email him at Condley said the camp gives him a good look at the future of the Pioneer and Lady Pioneer soccer programs.

“Last year, we had a large eighth grade class,” Condley said. “Now they are going to be my freshmen for the upcoming season. They will have an idea of how I do things and my coaching style. It’s a great opportunity for us to mold future Pioneers and Lady Pioneers.”

Helping Condley teach the camp are former and current Lady Pioneer and Pioneer soccer players. Gavin Hentges, assistant academy director is also teaching. While Condley hopes the campers gain a better understanding of the game of soccer, he also wants them to have a good time.

“It’s something different,” Condley said. “It’s a great opportunity for kids to come out and have fun and make new friends.
