Several athletes earn spots on All-State basketball teams

STILLWATER, Okla. — Several area athletes made the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State basketball teams Tuesday and will play in a game at Oral Roberts University on July 31.

Stillwater’s Carson Teel will play on the large school’s East Team. The senior guard averaged 19.4 points per game and was the Pioneers’ leading scorer.

Glencoe senior Jake Lazenby was selected to the Class A East Team. Lazenby averaged 19.7 points per game and helped the Panthers to a 29-0 season and a repeat of their state championship. Agra’s Jonathon Norton will also play for the Class A East Team after helping the Bearcats reach the regional consolation.

Yale senior guard Brady Eberhart made the Class 2A East team after averaging 15.7 points per game and helped the Bulldogs reach the area consolation. Coyle senior point guard Ryan Weathers made the Class A West Team. Weathers averaged 13.2 points per game and helped Coyle reach the area consolation.

The All-State girls basketball teams will be chosen this week.
