Stillwater High softball struggles against Midwest City

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. — Two days after the offense lit up the scoreboard for a come-from-behind win over Enid, the Stillwater High School softball team struggled to get the offense going against Midwest City Thursday.

Stillwater’s offense couldn’t seem to find its groove, dropping a 6-2 district game to the Bombers in a game Stillwater coach Amber Davis said should have been a winable game.

“We just had a poor night offensively,” Davis said. “We weren’t hitting the ball at all.”

The lone bright spot for the Lady Pioneers (4-5, 2-3 in district) was junior catcher Halley Randolph, who knocked in both of Stillwater’s runs. But that was about it as far as the offense goes.

The Bombers, on the other hand, had no trouble lighting up the scoreboard — finding seemingly every hole in Stillwater’s defense.

The Lady Pioneers will hope to right the ship Friday as they travel to Piedmont to compete in a triangular against Piedmont and Dickson before returning home against Westmoore Tuesday.
