Early morning snow cancels several athletic events

STILLWATER, Okla. — The early morning snow will keep most area high school athletic squads from playing as several basketball games were canceled.

Stillwater High’s swim meet at Union was canceled. The Pioneers and Lady Pioneers return to action 6 p.m. Thursday against Broken Arrow at the Stillwater Family YMCA.

Carney was supposed to play at Coyle Friday and will play host to Agra at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Coyle will compete in the Frontier Shootout Monday. The Lady Bluejackets will play Garber at 6:45 p.m. and the Bluejackets will play Newkirk JV at 8:15 p.m.

Agra was supposed to play at Ripley. This is the second time in  their first three games that weather caused a postponement. Ripley will play in the KOFM Classic on Thursday.

Glencoe was supposed to host Tonkawa. The Panthers and Lady Panthers will play in the Pond Creek-Hunter Tournament starting Monday. Mulhall-Orlando, who didn’t have a game scheduled Friday will also play in the tournament.

Morrison was supposed to play at Cashion. The Wildcats and Lady Wildcats will compete in the Frontier Shootout. The Lady Wildcats play at 4:15 p.m. against Frontier. The Wildcats play at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday against Crescent.

Cushing’s games in the Lake Keystone Classic Saturday. was canceled. Perry is still planning to play Summitt Christian in the Christian Heritage Tournament on Saturday.

Perkins-Tryon’s basketball teams were off after the Oklahoma Baptist University Invitational was canceled Thursday. Their  next game will be 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against Perry. Yale wasn’t scheduled to play Friday and will compete in the Agra Tournament on Thursday.
