RED ROCK, Okla. — The Frontier girls started out well against Ripley but couldn’t keep up. Clay Stephens, Frontier head coach, said the team couldn’t make its shots.

“Three-point shots were really the difference in the game,” Stephens said.

Marissa Goodman and Sydney Pappan led the game in points for Frontier. They scored 26 of the Lady Mustang’s 37 points.

Stephens said the team will get better as the season goes along, but he isn’t sure what to expect when they play Glencoe next Tuesday.

Kylie Ladd and Jaclyn McKnight were the high scorers for the Lady Warriors. Ladd and McKnight each scored 15 points.

Ripley coach Doug Scott said his team had a slow start.

“Our defense kept us in it,” Scott said.

Ripley’s next game is Nov. 30 against Coyle.

Agra 39, Mulhall-Orlando 25

ORLANDO — The Lady Bearcats jumped into the game with a big start. Their momentum slowed down a bit, but they came back strong in the second half.

Multiple players scored, including Thompson, Watkins, Howard, Austin and Condrey. Row led with 11 points and Rossiter followed with nine.

Next week, Agra will play at home against Oilton.

Glencoe 60, Shidler 22

GLENCOE — Glencoe head coach,Stephen Castlebury said his team played very well against Shidler.

“Every win is valuable for us right now,” Castlebury said.

Shidler had a hard time stopping Kelsey Castlebury, Summer Jeffries and Jessica Hutchinson. All three girls put up double digits. They scored 41 points among them.

Glencoe will play Frontier, which is No. 1 in Class A, next Tuesday.

Boys Basketball

Ripley 52, Frontier 36

RED ROCK — The Ripley boys started out slow but kept up the pace, defeating Frontier by 16 points.

“We had a slow start but wound up pretty good,” Scott said.

Houston Twoguns was the leading scorer for Ripley with 20 points, and Jared Gosney added 17 points.

The Warriors are now 3-0 this season.

Glencoe 102, Shidler 60

GLENCOE — Glencoe basketball fans had a lot to cheer about as the team put triple digits on the scoreboard in its home-opener against Shidler.

“We came out and scored a lot of points,” Glencoe coach John Lazenby said. “We gave up a few more than we would like though.”

All team members got playing time. Jake Lazenby scored a team-high 28 points. Ty Lazenby, Hunter Hall and Kagen Castlebury were also leading scorers for the team.

They will play Frontier on Tuesday, which Lazenby said will be a much larger challenge.

Coyle 68, Carney 29

CARNEY — The Bluejackets came away with a win despite playing away from home and only having three days of practice since their last football game.

“We are out of basketball shape and we are rusty,” Coyle coach Josh Sumrall said.

Coyle does not have a game next week, and Sumrall said he plans to spend that time putting a lot of work in. They will play Agra the week after Thanksgiving.

Tony Aska led the team with 23 points against Carney. Ryan Weather and Jakobi Brown also contributed with 19 points total.

“A win is a win,” Sumrall said. “We’ll take it.”

Mulhall-Orlando 66, Agra 63

ORLANDO — The Bearcats played a close game but couldn’t pull out the win.

The 15 points that both Jones and Rossiter scored weren’t enough to keep them in the game. The team scored big in all four quarters but still fell.

Next week they will be at an advantage, playing at home against Oilton.
