STILLWATER, Okla. — Marine Cpl. Dusty W. Sisco safely returned from Helmand Province, Afghanistan, on Dec. 2, 2009, and spent January home on leave.

He was welcomed at Camp Pendleton in California by his sister, Karrie Ley, and numerous friends. Friends and family met him at the airport in Oklahoma City.

Sisco was with 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division. They were involved with the Strike of the Sword offensive in July 2009. It was the largest Marine offensive since Vietnam. The battalion was also featured on “Anderson Cooper 360.”

Sisco is due home April 1 after completing his four years with the U.S. Marine Corps.

He is the son of Steve Sisco and the late Karen Sisco, the brother of Charlie and Karrie Ley, Stillwater. He is the grandson of Bill and Judy Reding, Stillwater; the late Patsy Reding; Bill Sisco, Morrison; and the late Shirley Sisco. He is the uncle of Colten, Jason and Cheyenne Ley.
