Dr. Harry August Wiese Jr.
Dr. Harry August Wiese Jr., long-time Chandler resident, was born on Aug. 17, 1932, in Madison, S.D., and departed this life on Sunday, June 28, 2009, in Stroud at the age of 76 years.
Harry was the son of Harry August and Marlys (Koopman) Wiese Sr. He served in the United States Navy in Pensacola, Fla. Harry married Maxine McLain on Aug. 16, 1952, in Folkston, Ga. Dr. Wiese worked as an optometrist in Chandler for many years. He served as the president of the Chandler School board and was past president of the Oklahoma Optometric Association, Lions’ and Rotary Clubs of Chandler and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
His father and wife preceded Harry in death.
Survivors include fours sons and daughters-in-law, Jon and Suzanne Wiese of Stillwater, Jay and Connie Wiese of Tulsa, Paul and Dee Dee Wiese of Livermore, Calif. and Carl and Debbie Wiese of Chester, N.J.; 11 grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the First United Methodist Church, Chandler. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery at 9 a.m. with the Rev. Sungsu Hwang officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
