LETTERS: Comment and chain

STILLWATER, Okla. — Comment

I only have one thing to say to the “Good Old Boys (and Girls)” network who is spearheading the witch hunt against Mayor Bates – remember, those who live in glass houses should not throw stones and pot — meet kettle.

Chain planned

Once upon a time, America was a great country and stood for all that was good and true.

What has happened to us? Why are our streets not safe and why do we continue to hear over and over again of the injustice of murder and violence within our society?

Our streets are not safe and never will be safe because we promote murder. Abortion is the ultimate sign that we have failed to understand that life is precious and sacred. If life within the mother’s womb is not safe, how can life outside the womb ever be safe?

If we cannot impress on our children the value of life, then how will we stop them from killing others in the future? The media is quick to show the injustice of those killed in war zones and other places around the world, but where is the media to show us the atrocities in the womb that are occurring by the millions every year?

We have a war zone in hospitals and abortion clinics, where thousands of innocent babies are on the firing line every day.

... Life Chain Sunday, Oct. 3, from 2-3 p.m. on Perkins Road is an hour of prayer to God to heal this nation and to be a visible sign to all that life is sacred.

The prosperity of our nation depends on this. We ask all clergy and laity of all faiths to pray for all those affected by the horror of abortion, and that soon, God will renew us with His Spirit and change the heart of this nation.
