STILLWATER, Okla. — A traffic accident closed State Highway 51 approximately six miles west of Stillwater early Friday morning. The road was closed from at 12:15 a.m. Friday and reopened at 7:43 a.m.
At 11:45 pm. Thursday, a tractor-trailer rig, driven by a 37-year North Little Rock, Ark., man, was traveling east on State Highway 51. It left the road, struck a bridge and veered into the median where it rolled once before coming to rest uprigh, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
The driver, whose name has not been released by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, was pinned in the vehicle for approximately 45 minutes. He was eventually taken by air ambulance to OU Medical Center where he was admitted in critical condition, according to the report.
