STILLWATER, Okla. —
Bride-to-be Tara Braden attended the Stillwater NewsPress Bridal Showcase on Saturday with her fiance Kyle Crawford to get ideas for planning their wedding.
They were able to visit with photographers, videographers, bakers, DJs, florists and more to figure out what they might want to do.
Braden said they haven’t set a date yet, but the wedding will be sometime in the fall. Crawford asked her to marry him in November, he said, surprising her during what she thought was a girls’ weekend with her two best friends.
“It was three years to the day when we started dating,” he said.
Braden was one of about 125 brides to attend the show. An estimated 400 to 500 people attended, said NewsPress Advertising Director Ann Blunt.
“It’s exciting to see all the brides,” said Becky Moore with Murphy’s.
The day culminated with a fashion show of bridesmaids’ dresses, flower girl dresses, tuxedos for groomsmen and ringbearers and wedding gowns, followed by a cake dive to win the grand prize.
Five brides-to-be, Whitney Woolf, Sarah Koeppe, Karli Hoffman, Nina Manser and Carrie Foster, participated in the cake dive after their names were drawn from the names of registered brides at the show. Manser found the ring in the cake first and won the grand prize of a weekend getaway.
