STILLWATER, Okla. —
The Artists’ Coalition of Stillwater is turning to residents for support as it host its Fundraising Garage Sale Saturday from 6-10 p.m. at Chris Salmon Plaza at Ninth Avenue and Main Street.
Member Damon Blalack said there will be plenty to look through.
“Mainly art supplies, some craft items that different members of the coalition have created, books and the rest might be pretty random, odds and ends, basically,” he said.
Hundreds of items, including clothing and housewares, will be available for purchase. The event will also feature free food and drinks and live music by Mighty Big Fire and Giant Child.
“It’s a chance to go out and support the arts in Stillwater because we do have a very active group that is dedicated in bringing more culture to the area,” he said.
Funds will go toward artist gallery showings and art walks. Blalack said even if residents are not interested in purchasing items, their support in attending would be appreciated. The show is an all ages event.
“Most of the finances we depend upon to put together events come primarily from public donations,” Blalack said. “We’ve occasionally gotten a grant from the Art Council of Stillwater, but it normally comes from a member’s pocket or the donation jars.”
