STILLWATER, Okla. —
Payne County commissioner Chris Reding will serve as commission chairman.
Reding took office Wednesday, replacing longtime District 2 County Commissioner Gloria Hesser who did not seek re-election.
Reding was elected unanimously.
District 2 isn’t responsible for maintaining county roads — the district lies within the boundaries of the city of Stillwater. Reding said he would have more time to devote to customer service and the chairman’s position because he doesn’t have a road department to operate.
Hesser was elected to the county commission in 1995 and served as its chairman.
