STILLWATER, Okla. — Gabriel Weidenaar, a former Oklahoma State University outfielder and relief pitcher, will not serve any more jail time.
Weidenaar, 21, was sentenced Friday morning to two ten year sentences and one 30 day sentence. All that time is suspended except for 30 days which Weidenaar has already served. He must also pay a $1000 fine, $150 lab fee, $100 drug fund contribution and pay court costs. He must complete 50 hours of community service.
The district attorney's office will supervise Weidenaar for two years and he will submit to random drug testing. He will have to complete an alcohol and drug evaluation.
Weidenaar was arrested in April after officers intercepted four pounds of marijuana addressed to the player.
Initially Weidenaar was charged with unlawful possession of controlled drug with intent to distribute within 2,000 feet of a school, conspiracy to commit a felony, possession of controlled dangerous substance without tax stamp affixed and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The state downgraded the first charge and dismissed the third charge at the defendant's cost, court records show.
