STILLWATER, Okla. —
The State Board of Career and Technology Education has selected Robert Sommers, Middletown, Ohio, as the new state director of the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education.
The announcement was made Wednesday by State Superintendent of Public Instruction and Career and Technology Education Board Chairwoman Janet Barresi. Sommers will join the department April 1.
Kay Martin, former superintendent of Francis Tuttle Technology Center, will serve as interim state director following the Feb. 7 retirement of Phil Berkenbile.
