UPDATE: Stillwater police investigate second armed robbery at Approved Cash

STILLWATER, Okla. — Stillwater police are searching Dumpsters and a nearby wooded area around Pioneer Square following a second armed robbery at Approved Cash, 705 E. McElroy Road, in less than a month.

A man, apparently dressed as a woman, robbed employees at gunpoint around noon Friday.

Police officers also are taking photos and have called for K-9 units.

On Jan. 17, an armed man robbed Approved Cash. He took an undetermined amount of cash and the clerk's silver Honda, which was later recovered.

Wednesday, an armed man robbed the Git 'N Gallup, 1325 N. Perkins Road. On Jan. 25, an armed man robbed Cowboy Corner on Duck Street.

Police say it is likely the same man is involved in the previous robberies. It is not known if the same suspect is involved in Friday's robbery.

Police spokesman Randy Dickerson has asked witnesses or anyone with information about the previous armed robberies to contact the police department, 405-372-4171, or the anonymous tip line, 405-842-8327.
