STILLWATER, Okla. —
A Stillwater restaurant is soliciting donations for a good cause while promising a reward in return.
Freddie Paul’s Steakhouse kicked off its campaign to assist the Mission of Hope on Saturday.
“We have specific items that we’re collecting for the Mission,” said Freddie Paul’s Manager and Event Coordinator JoAnne Callaway. “It’s items they can use on a regular basis, but also items that they can give to their residents for their party on Dec. 20th.”
Callaway said donors can give one or more of four, new items — a blanket, pillow, sweatshirt or hoodie and a pair of men’s or women’s house shoes — in exchange for a free appetizer at the restaurant.
Callaway said homelessness affects all levels of society and they hope to make more people aware. They are handing out brochures with every receipt.
“We want to help the community and the community has certainly supported us,” Callaway said.
The restaurant will accept donations until Dec. 18.
